Have a friend bringing her kids over from the 10th of april. Her 11 year old is missing out on the last day of his camp where they do a small boat handling course. I am interested in getting him too do a weekday one here in safety bay. Can you help….

Cost is $150 weekdays and $170 weekends and add $30 if you want to use our boat.

I haven’t driven a boat for 20 years (ex-Navy) and my son who is 17 has never driven a boat.

Hi Sheridan,

No doesnt have to drive a boat but it is much more practical to do your RST on a boat.

Other assessors specifically cater for PWC’s but we do not as we don’t have a PWC.

Hi there when you say .guarantee pass. do most competent people pass for the $170 fee?

Hi Daren,

Most people pass if they read the workbook. If they don’t pass though it does not cost them anything but is usually because they failed the theory as did not read the workbook. We do up to an hour on the theory training but only go over the confusing parts so you need to do a couple of hours reading before you get to us.

As far as the practical goes it is pretty straight forward but we need to train you in the steps necessary to pass practical. Driving a boat is not overly difficult remembering the steps is the hard part but we have been doing it over 10 years now so lets hope we know what we are doing.

The standard fee is $198 when you pass if you are using our boat.

Would not have enough daylight to run a course starting at 16:30 but we have courses running Saturday and Sunday afternoons starting at 13:00.

Hi Pete, can I book in for a RST quick course? Just moved back from Karratha to Safety Bay after a few years away, brought my 25′ plate ali down with me so probably should have a license in Perth waters 🙂 40 years in boats.

I’m only home from work for a few days at a time. Any chance of fitting me in on Fri 10th, Mon 13th or Tues 14th Nov?

Hi Tim,

No problem, you will need to grab a skippers ticket workbook and read pages 10-88 before the course as alot of the information you will be tested on is state legislation rules and regulations that you wouldn’t know unless you read the book. The guys that wrote the book wrote the multiple choice test si it all runs off the workbook.

Probably the Monday 13th or Tuesday 14th will be the best date my end for Rockingham.
