Looking at doing my RST before xmas. Live in Mindarie so am looking at the quick course. I do have some practical boat experience . Please can you let me know dates and availability.

we have a course there every Sunday although next Sunday being Boxing Day is moved to the Monday 27th.

Hi,

I would like to buy a jet ski but have realised that you need your skippers ticket to ride it?! is this true?!
also would i be receiving a certificate and/or card to say that i have completed my skippers ticket?! do you need a drivers license to do your skippers ticket?!

Hi Peter,

yes you will need a RST for a jet ski as it has an engine above 6hp.

When you do your course with us after successful completion of the course you will be provided immediately with an interim ticket. This means you can jump from our boat onto your jet ski straight away.

You do not need a drivers license to obtain your RST as the minimum age is 14.

Whilst in the R.A.N I completed 100+ Hours on the Ships Helm thus gaining a Helmsman Certificate(no paper cert:),is this recognized.

no problem as we have space for you on Sunday. Course starts at 8am at Mindarie Primary School. Please have read RST workbook and have drivers license on the day. Cost is $198 payable by cash or cheque on the day once you successfully pass everything.

Hi Jimmy,

course cost is $198 per person all inclusive and payable once you have successfully passed all criteria.
You will need to read RST workbook prior to course. You can download this off the net on our homepage http://www.waskipper.com or pick one up from a licensing branch or the fisheries building at Hillarys. No prior experience on boat handling is needed as we provide full training for the practical on one of our training vessels.

hi , id like to do a skippers ticket for recreational fishing. im confused by the site with quick courses and full courses and part a and part b ……… what is needed in total to obtain a skippers ticket and whats the full cost

Hi Peter,

the only difference between the 2 courses is the amount of theory training as the quick course requires you to do a bit of self study prior to course (read the workbook). The practical is identical on either course, either course gets you a RST once you pass identical assessments.
Cost of the quick course is $198 all inclusive, you just read the workbook and bring a drivers license.
